Open Call: Introduction to Virtual Production Workshops @ Alt_R

Gossamer Fog is inviting practitioners to sign up to attend specialist group introductory workshops at Alt_R where they will gain knowledge and a deeper understanding of virtual production. A chance to see the studio in action and find out what is possible when working with this technology.

Alt_R is a cutting-edge virtual production studio dedicated to artist development, collaboration, and commissioned projects. Offering a unique platform for artists to learn, experiment, and push the boundaries of what is possible in this field within visual arts.

What will the workshop cover?
During the workshop participants will learn about the workflows and possibilities when working with virtual production using Unreal Engine. This will include camera work and camera tracking, lighting in virtual/physical sets, interactivity and motion capture.

There will also be an opportunity to get advice or ask questions on how this may be applied to your own projects.

How many can take part?
Each workshop will host 15 artists (45 spaces in total)

Friday 16th August 2024 1 - 3pm

Eligibility

• This opportunity is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Virtual Production, no matter what field you work in
  
• You must be able to attend the workshop in London for one of the dates and times listed above
  
• We encourage applications from those from low-socioeconomic, BAME, LGTBQ+ and other underrepresented backgrounds.
  
• You do not need to have any prior knowledge of virtual production or unreal engine
